A Music business note:

As for the Music Business of today which has been for some time, Independent and will continue to address the Independent musicians movement and the Independent Musician, the term that needs to be used is Digital Label not Record Label.

Record Labels and the word Records are like dinosaurs, gone, extinct. We need to go to the next level of business now, Digital, so please stop using the term Record.

All those in the Music business, Aspiring and Professional musicians need to remember that this is the Digital Music Era and the Music Business has forever changed. So in having ones own music label , the proper term to use would be, Digital Music Label .

Example; SoSo Def Digital Music Label, Bad Boy Digital Music Label, get the point.

There is no way around the Facts that the internet is the Music Business owned by all Rappers, Singers, Composer, Producers, Musicians and controlled by the Music FANS. Either you get connected on the internet or get disconnected.

As independent musicians, the independent musicians movement continues to take 100 % ownership of the Music business by working as a Team and supporting one another via the Internet, there is really no need or room for Record Labels to be involved or to get Record Label Loans unless they are willing to give up more than what they have or have made from Music income of the past and trying to do so now. The Record labels made their Millions already, it's a whole new Game.

Who would have thought in our lifetime that Musicians would now be in the drivers seat while the so called Record labels wait to see the new way of doing business in the Music business established by the Independent Musicians and Independent musicians movement.

To fans of music and peoples of the internet world and singers, rappers, musicians, aspiring and professional music writers, composers, producers.

I know that I won't be getting a Grammy for my songs and that my songs are not perfect which is why I ask for team help.

Being that my aspirations are still a dream I like to think that I am part of this movement of the independent musician and so express my thoughts and opinions so people in the music business, aspiring or already in the biz think about how much control you have as a music artist.

The rejections from the record labels to me as an aspiring music writer, composer, producer just made me work harder and time has now caught up with the record labels an so it is now an independent world in the music business.

It is truly a "Do it yourself music business world" so that being said I would like to say from articles I've read that some in the music business are still trying to make it a rule that music business rules and ways of promoting and addressing music of past history is still applicable. This could not be further from the truth.

* Who would have thought that the music business would forever change and musicians, singers, rappers aspiring and professional music writers, composers and producers would own and control this business of music like record labels did for years.

For those who have been nurtured by record labels in the past or present, let go, move on, if you don't you will be left behind. Record labels did what they had to do then.

* It's about the Independent music artist now making the decision if they want to include record labels in their agenda or not for the purpose of the independent music artists gains not the record labels. Which also includes streaming revenue needing to be in the independent music artist’s control.

It's either the music artist is in charge or not.

* Those days of record labels being 100% in charge and in control are gone to the point that the internet is the music business owned by all musicians, singers, rappers, aspiring and professional music writer’s, composer’s, producers and controlled by the FANS.

* The music business has forever changed in favor of the music artist. Fans of music always support music by buying music directly from the music artist web site or business web site it is the right thing to do.

Fans of music remember times have changed and as we continue into the future of music and the music business continues to evolve via the Internet and music continues to be sold and is available to everyone around the world via the Internet please respect the hard work and dedication that music writers, composers, producers, singers and rappers put into their work year after year and support them by buying music directly, downloading to purchase a song directly from their own website or own Business website it is the right thing to do and helps the music artist to continue to be an independent music artist on their own terms.

Support the American dream to be free and independent. It is the American way to be free and independent. Support that.

* So I say to all musicians, singers, rappers, aspiring and professional music writers, composers, producers, own your rights and freedom to do it your way.

Think independent. Be independent.

In my opinion record labels have been and will continue to be the spectators of what direction the music business is continuing to go based on the independent musicians decisions which is also supported by the FANS.
